In Mauritius you have an abundance of options, when it comes to the selection of your ideal wedding location. The most popular venue is obviously the beach. If you book one of our beach villas, you can celebrate your wedding peacefully right there in your own garden directly on the beach. If you select a different accommodation, we can always organise the wedding on a public beach or in a cosy beach restaurant. You also have the opportunity to disembark on a small, uninhabited island to tie the knot. Altogether, you have the choice between two nearby islands. We also offer you the option to celebrate that special day on a yacht or catamaran, underwater or in a church.
The different Types of Ceremonies
The civil wedding of foreign couples performed by a Mauritian registrar is admissible. Whether a beautiful sandy beach in front of your own villa, a secluded beach on a small island, a catamaran during sunset or a luxurious yacht – the Mauritian repertoire of romantic places is endless.
Please provide us with a copy of the first three double pages of your passports, as well as a copy of the (international) birth certificates of both partners six weeks prior to your wedding day in Mauritius.
Secular or symbolic ceremonies do not possess legal validity and are therefore not bound by legal conventions in form and content. This ceremony is ideal for couples that already got married in their home country and would now like to celebrate the wedding in the company of their inner circle or alone with their partner. The ceremony is held by an independent officiant, who will design an individual speech for you and your partner. You also have the opportunity to address each other with personal wedding vows.
Would you like to use your wedding anniversary or another important event as an opportunity to renew your vows? We also create a wonderful and romantic setting for this occasion. The unique and personal character of this celebration will guarantee that your anniversary will be your wedding day’s equal in every way. Similar to symbolic ceremonies, you are in no way bound by content and legal obligations, as the renewal of marriage vows does not possess any legal validity.
In Mauritius, church weddings can be held either in English or in French. You can decide for yourself in which of the romantic churches you would like to be wed. Each church possesses its own unique charm. Please note that a longer processing time applies to the preparation of a church wedding in Mauritius. Read more about church weddings in Mauritius.
